Component 1 – GOVERNMENT CENTER

Responsible for SGG, Department for Sustainable Development

The strategic role of the Government Center (CoG)

In OECD countries, the strategic role of the Center of Government (CoG) has expanded to address the challenges of successfully addressing increasingly complex policy-making. The cross-cutting nature of policy challenges (e.g. the SDGs) requires the development of strong capacities for coordination, planning, priority setting and monitoring and evaluation of policy performance.

The Government of Romania

initiated reforms aimed at strengthening the capacities of the Government Centre, especially for strategic planning, and identified needs for further strengthening of coordination, monitoring and evaluation.

Increasing the capacity of the Government Centre

In order to increase the capacity of the Government Center for interministerial coordination to develop and implement public policies in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) assumed by Romania within the United Nations (UN), the component aims to create a roadmap to ensure the coherence of policies for development sustainable and the organization of workshops.
