Component 4 – PUBLIC INTEGRITY

Responsible Ministry of Justice

Public Integrity

Promoting integrity in the public health system, the national education system and within public enterprises.

The high level of engagement and commitment in the fight against corruption among governmental and non-state actors, including the private sector and civil society, provides ample opportunity to support Romania in further improving its integrity and anti-corruption efforts. Romania’s National Anti-Corruption Strategy highlights the need to strengthen mechanisms and capacities for the effective implementation of anti-corruption policies at the national and local level.

Specifically, the project supports the Government of Romania in the implementation of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy in the following strategic areas:

Degree of Awareness

Increasing awareness and understanding of integrity standards by public service employees and public service beneficiaries.

Strengthening integrity

Strengthening integrity and reducing corruption risks in priority sectors such as health, education, business.

The relevant authorities from the public health system, the national education system and state enterprises will support the Ministry of Justice and the OECD in the implementation of the three objectives related to the integrity component.
